Biography
Angela Gilda Carota is currently PhD student in Chemistry and Material Sciences at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, where she joined the Chemistry Lab for Analytical Technologies and Sensors (CATS). During her PhD project she is developing a CRISPR/Cas based electrochemical biosensor for the detection of pathogens in drinkable water, while during her Bachelor and Master degree thesis she worked at the Applied and Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory (ALS-Lab) at ICCOM-CNR (Pisa) performing Raman and SERS analyses on both cultural heritage and clinical samples.

Education
M. Sc, Chemistry, curriculum Analytical Chemistry, University of Pisa, 2021
B.Sc, Chemistry, University of Pisa, 2019

Research interests
Angela Gilda Carota’s research interests are the development of biosensors for clinical purposes, in particular for the Point-of-Care and Point-of-Need, with interest in electrochemistry transduction methods, nanomaterials, inkjet printing and biological recognition. In parallel, her research activity is also focused in the analysis of clinical samples by means of Raman spectroscopy and SERS, coupled to multivariate analyses methods.
